Description

The Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs Health Services is looking for a Registered Nurse under the direct supervision of the BATC Nursing Supervisor. The Registered Nurse will provide specialized programming designed to meet the unique needs of our BATC communities with support. Collaborate with leadership to meet the needs of communities in the provision of community healthcare delivery and ensuring the operational requirements of the organization are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Registered Nurse will work in collaboration with the Community Health Nurses in our BATC Communities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and report to BATC Nursing Supervisor.. Actively participate in pandemic response and emergency preparedness planning and operations (if so needed) participate in program planning and community initiatives. Advocate for clients and communities in accessing relevant services needed to support their well-being.
Responsible for CHN oversight, including clinical performance and evaluation of clinical knowledge, workflow, and system skills. Raise awareness that promotes individual growth and collective improvements in care. Attending meetings in the agency and outside the agency as required. Attending education in the agency and outside the agency as required. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelors degree / Diploma in nursing
    Basic Life Support (BLS)
    Current registration with the CRNS
    Experience in community/public health nursing is an asset.
    Experience in venipuncture and specimen collection is an asset.
    Ability to travel within First nation Communities.
    Knowledge regarding First Nations health and social issues
