Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Ammonia Crystallization, Oxygen and Utility plants.
-The Chief Power Engineer or Power Engineer supervisor will assign other duties as required.
-Successful candidate will be required to be trained in the operation of the Sulfuric Acid Plant
-Strive for continuous improvement in operation efficiency and product quality
-Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
-Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and electronic communication to relay information regarding condition of plant
-Maintaining an accurate shift log
-Ability to work with both operations and maintenance departments
-Ability to operate in a leadership role when needed
-Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in higher than normal heat conditions (up to 40C)
-Must possess elite troubleshooting skills and strive for continuous improvement of process
Skills and Qualifications:
-Possession of a valid 3rd Class Power Engineers certificate
o Candidates with half of their 3rd Class exams completed and 3rd Class firing time will be considered
-Must have 3 or more years experience working with high pressure boilers in a heavy industrial atmosphere
-Must have completed grade 12
-Ability to accept a role in training and development of Power Engineer Trainees
-Commissioning & shut down experience is considered an asset
-Experience with SAP considered an asset
-Acid Plant and Evaporator experience is considered an asset
-Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewans North (RSN)
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake
-14 day in/14 day out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
