Description

The Financial Services Branch of the Ministry of Health is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will be working under the leadership of the Manager of Health Partner Financial Services.  

In this role, the Senior Financial analyst will be responsible to:

- Provide analysis and recommendations to decision-makers that have a direct impact on the health sector;
- Build relationships with stakeholders by evaluating issues and identifying the implications, potential strategies, solutions and recommendations with supporting rationale;
- Assist in the development of the Ministrys budget through consultation with the health sector third parties; and
- Analyze and concisely explain financial matters both verbally and in writing.

- The ability to develop standards, analyze and assess financial information of the health sector third parties to understand their current financial performance;
- The ability to research, analyze and prepare briefing material and recommendations for senior officials based on the third parties financial information to assist with resource allocation requirements and decision-making;
- Strong analytical skills, while holding extensive knowledge in accounting principles, practices and standards; and
- Ability to build and maintain positive and effective working relationships with third parties.

Typically, the required knowledge and skills for this position are acquired through the successful completion of a degree in Commerce or Business Administration combined with a CPA designation. A combination of education and progressive experience in financial management and analysis will also be considered.
