The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for the position of Arena Operator in the Community Services Division. This is a permanent full-time position. This position will involve weekend and holiday work, and varied shifts of 8, 10 and 12 hours, in order to meet operational requirements.  

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager you will be responsible for janitorial related duties, care and maintenance of buildings, equipment, furnishings and the surrounding grounds.  Other responsibilities will include ice making and ice maintenance; utilizing ice resurfacing machine and related equipment. During the summer months you may be assigned duties within the Community Services Division.

Basic Requirements:
    Grade 12;
    A valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License with a clean abstract;
    Ability to become Safe Places - Community Certified;
    First Aid / CPR C / Automated External Defibrillator (AED);
    Arena Operator Level I;
    OH&S Level 1;
    Building Maintenance Level 1;
    Propane Pump Attendant;
    Ability to operate a computer - understand email, Microsoft Office and Xplor Recreation (PerfectMind);
    Ability to operate ice resurfacing machine and other maintenance equipment with due care and attention;
    Ability to use simple hand tools and basic power equipment required for building and grounds maintenance;
    Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess initiative with respect to duties and responsibilities; and
    Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the general public in person or over the phone.

The salary range for this position is $25.01 to $30.42 per hour and is eligible for Shift Differential pay of $1.25 per hour for work between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
