Beppis Gelato in Saskatoon offers small batch, artisanal gelato as well as Italian style coffees, confections, and hard to find grocery items. We are passionate about our products and strive to offer the best customer service possible. Beppis is looking for a like-minded person who is interested in taking leadership of the gelato making operations of our shop.
Responsibilities
Believe in providing high quality, artisanal product
Assume all duties related to the production of gelato and inclusions.
Organize, replenish and tidy storage areas.
Inventory management - ensure groceries and inventoried and ordered with minimal wastage.
Machinery mastery in operating gelato making equipment as well as cleaning and regular maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Supervision and Training assume all aspects of gelato making process including supervision of other gelato makers.
Participate in general discussions relating to ongoing issues and strategy with owners and other managers.
Follow recipes accurately to produce gelato, confections, and inclusions.
Conduct quality control of all food preparation and ensure good health, safety and sanitation standards are upheld.
Excel at multi-tasking.
Qualifications
Ability to work early mornings
Ability to problem solve and work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills
Experience working in a commercial kitchen
This is a physically demanding job. Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs, repetitive movements, and standing for long periods of time.
Ability to plan and anticipate future demand and needs
Food Safe Certification
Preferred basic pastry training, however we are willing to train the right candidate
Have a passion for food and cooking/baking
Job Type
Full time (minimum 30 hours/week), 4 to 5 days a week
