The Light and Power Department is accepting applications for an Electrical Engineering Technologist. This is a permanent full-time position, with consideration given to Electrical Engineering Technologist students who are nearing completion of the Diploma program. Under the supervision of the Technical Superintendent of Light and Power, this position performs a variety of engineering assignments associated with planning, design, inspection, construction, maintenance, operation and improvement of the fibre optic and Electrical Systems and utility revenue metering. This position will play a major role in the design and management of a new utility wide SCADA system.
Basic Requirements:
Grade 12 and Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology;
Electrical Engineering Technologists must be certified or eligible for certification as an Applied Science Technologist by the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT);
Possession of a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's license;
Ability to become Safe Places Certified;
Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of engineering and related software, including AutoCAD, Excel, Access, etc.;
Physical aptitude to perform the job;
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing;
Ability to apply mathematical methods and formulas to problem solve; and
Demonstrated time management and project management skills.
