The Prevention Worker will work within the community to develop realistic strategic prevention
plans, recognizing the needs of the community. This individual will continually monitor and report on
community concerns to ensure program objectives are aligned with identified needs. The Prevention
Program Coordinator will oversee all functions of the program including the provision of community-based
education and referrals, the supervision and guidance of program prevention workers and assisting with the
creation of the annual budget. This individual with regularly liaise with members of the community, various
department heads and other community-based organizations in order to ensure effective delivery of the
prevention program in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements
A diploma/degree in Social Science, Social Work or other related field. A combination of work
experience may be considered.
1-2 years' experience in working within the community.
Knowledge of establishing and managing needs-based programming.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Demonstrated professional integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters.
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
