As a Lead Hand, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising staff, ensuring proper coverage of workstations and employee compliance with SARCAN policies and procedures and OH&S guidelines and regulations.
- Handling operational concerns (mechanical, staff, processing flows) in a timely manner.
- Maintaining equipment and logs for maintenance, reporting repairs where necessary.
- Operating all plant equipment (e.g. forklift, conveyors, balers, crushers, etc.) as required.
- Assisting Foreperson with shipping and receiving duties.
- Attending online and in-person training and workshops as required.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
To be successful as a Lead Hand at SARCAN, you will need:
- Three years experience in an industrial setting, most recently in a supervisory role, are required. Grade 12 is an asset
- Possess good communication, both written and verbal.
- Be dependable and reliable.
- Have working knowledge of OH&S regulations in an industrial setting.
- Have a solid understanding of the operation and maintenance of production equipment.
- Have the ability to do physical work and stand for long periods of time.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Provide a satisfactory criminal record as a condition of employment
