The Rural Municipality of Garden River #490 is currently seeking an individual for an Equipment Operator position for the 2025 season.  This is a full-time seasonal position from May to October and an on call casual position for the winter season.  Depending on weather these time frames may be extended or shortened.  Applicants must be willing to work weekdays, weekends, evenings and nights as required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and service various equipment and attachments.  Such as, but not limited to: graders, tractors, mowers, loaders and excavators;
Gravel reclamation, rock picking, installation of culverts and minor road construction;
Sign and post installation;
Complete daily log and pre-op inspections and follow safety procedures;
Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers, council, administration, contractors, and ratepayers;
Other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Administrator.

The Successful Applicant Should Possess:
Experience in maintenance and operation of heavy equipment;
Able to read an RM map;
Class 1A or 3A drivers license is an asset;
Applicants must have the ability to manage and organize daily duties; and work with minimal supervision as required;
Great communication and documentation skills;
Valid drivers license
