Terra Housing Co-operative Ltd. is seeking a professional, experienced, self-motivated individual to complete office duties for our housing cooperative.
Responsibilities:
Book keeping duties such as managing accounts receivable and payable,
financial reporting
Administrative duties including filing, writing corresponding,
answering phones and maintaining an office space
Meeting legal requirements by ensuring the co-op complies with the Co-
operatives Act, provincial and municipal laws and its own by-laws and
policies. Reporting to government agencies and our auditor to ensure
the audited financial statements are complete and accurate
Supporting good governance by offering the Board of Directors and
other committees the information and advice they need to make a sound
decisions, ensuring the meeting are well prepared for and minutes are
kept
Report to the Board of Directors of the Co-operative
Communicating with the maintenance manager to ensure the co-op
responds promptly to maintenance issues
Two evenings per year required to attend the Co-operatives AGM and
GM
Qualifications:
Administrative experience. Experience managing a business, finances,
preference to QuickBooks experience
Knowledge of property management systems and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Time management skills
Proficient in MS office including excel and word
Demonstrate professionalism and discretion, when dealing with
confidential information
Experience working with a member-run, non-profit organization, member-
run committees and Board of Directors
Drivers Licence required
Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) required
