Description

The Beaver River Regional Housing Authority (BRRHA) has an opportunity for a permanent, full time Maintenance Worker to join their team in Pinehouse.  If you are ambitious and skilled in building and property maintenance, we would love to hear from you!

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this is a front-line position that requires the ability to promote positive working relationships with management, staff, and tenants and respects peoples diversity and individual differences.

Responsibilities:
-Deliver building maintenance services and repairs
-Unit turnover repairs
-Groundskeeping, and maintaining housing authority equipment and inventory
-Record keeping, such as inventory and purchase orders, etc.  

Requirements:
-Knowledge of the basic techniques employed in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, and electrical
-Experience servicing and repairing building mechanical equipment
-Ability to use hand and power tools and lift heavy loads
-Knowledge in the trades including carpentry, plumbing, heating, mechanical, painting, electrical, and groundskeeping work

Qualifications:
-Grade 12 education, basic computer skills, training in the trades along with hands on experience in a maintenance and repair OR an equivalent combination is required.
-Self-motivated with the ability to handle stress, while prioritizing workloads and respecting peoples diversity and individual differences
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills
-Ability to participate in an on call program for emergencies for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
-A valid drivers license, reliable, roadworthy vehicle, and an approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check are conditions of employment
