Canora District Seed Cleaning Cooperative is a producer owned cooperative that has been in operation for over 45 years. The plant cleans an average of 1,000,000 bushels per year from as far as 120 km away. The plant is guided by a Board of Directors made up of area producers. The plant offers a health benefits package as well as 3% matched RRSP.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations of the seed cleaning plant
Achieve and manage established high quality of cleaned product
Ensure adequate grain is delivered to the plant to facilitate 24/7 operations by contacting and scheduling producers
Schedule and supervise plant operators
Ensure the plant is operated within established safety standards
Conduct product sampling and analysis, and maintian associated documentation
Provide regular operations reporting to the Board of Directors.
Ensure operators keep up to date with required safety training and licensing
Qualifications
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the grain industry
Mechanical skills a must
Pesticide applicator licence and Registered Seed Grader Accreditation required, with training available to successful candidate without licensing
Demostrated communication skills
Experience with seed cleaning equipment, including colour sorter, an asset
Experience with QuickBooks accounting software an asset.
Knowledge of Seeds Canada facility compliance requirements an asset.
