The Jordan's Principle Assistant provides support to the Jordans Principle Service Coordinator(s) and Intake Officer in a professional manner exercising confidentiality, discretion, good judgement, tact, courtesy, and diplomacy at all times.
Job Summary
* Assisting the Jordan's Principle Service Coordinator(s) with administrative tasks
* Tracking Jordans Principle applications and their current statuses
* Assisting families in scheduling medical appointments, scheduling van transportation and arranging driver schedule.
* Building good rapport with families involved with Jordans Principle application process
* Collecting, retrieving & recording accurate data for reporting
* Adhere to the current Jordans Principle application process
* Updating & maintaining BRT6HC Jordans Principles social media platform
* Manage and maintain accurate records for all daily transactions, code, record, and payment processing
* Adhere to the Respite process
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent
* Knowledge and awareness of cultural values and practices within the community
* Ability to speak and understand Cree is an asset.
* Awareness of and demonstrated ability to relate to families facing multiple challenges relating to parenting
* Knowledge and proficiency in computers and programs such as, Microsoft office.
* Ability to work independently, in a self-motivated manner and effectively as a team player
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nation people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures.
* Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to balance the changing needs of the organization
* Valid Class5 drivers license
* A successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector
