This is a contract position responsible for the maintenance of the building and grounds of the housing authority units in Muenster. The maintenance contractor receives general direction from the manager and reports indirectly to the Board of Directors.
The Muenster Housing Authority manages a portfolio consisting of a combination of 12 Senior Housing units.
The successful contractor is to provide or subcontract the following services:
Routine janitorial services.
Routine grounds maintenance, including snow removal and lawn care.
Minor maintenance of common areas and rental units including repairs and/or replacements.
Accessibility to Housing Authority tenants for emergency repairs.
Maintenance of inventories and equipment.
Regular building, unit and vacant unit inspections.
Boiler monitoring (if applicable)
The contractor must have excellent communication skills and be able to provide services cooperatively to individuals and groups of varying backgrounds. A high degree of discretion and confidentiality is required. A basic working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical and general property maintenance practices as well as the ability to perform manual labor and lifting tasks is preferred. Contractor to provide all tools and equipment including personal vehicle and cell phone.
The preference is for a single contractor to perform all required services however, the Muenster Housing Authority reserves the right to consider separate applications for janitorial, grounds or maintenance services or any combination.
The preferred candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check including a vulnerable sector check prior to the offer of and appointment to a position.
