Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the MAID Social Worker provides provincial consultation and collaboration with the Provincial MAID Program team, provincial providers/assessors, healthcare providers, facilities, social workers and community services across the Province to achieve excellence in psychosocial end of life care related to medical assistance in dying. With the clinical consultation, mentoring and practice support of the MAID MSW Senior Social Worker, the MAID Social Worker will offer a full scope of psychosocial care in medical assistance in dying through the continuum of care (pre-MAID, MAID provision, post-MAID bereavement) including education, assessments, counselling interventions and evaluation of services to individuals and families. The MAID Social Worker will participate in leadership and initiatives on psychosocial care through research, education, resource and program development, mentorship, and advocacy. As a member of the Provincial MAID Program they are responsible for ensuring collaborative, professional and respectful relationships with patients, chosen families, colleagues and all other provincial interactions and engagement.
