The Protection Supervisor is responsible to; develop and maintain an experienced team of Integrated Family Services and Intake Workers; balance the standards of family/child centered practice with time and fiscal management constraints. Protection Supervisor duties include and may not be limited to oversight of Child Protection reports of abuse and neglect, and reports that meet the criteria in the Prevention Screening Tool; Children in Care Services; Family Support Services, as it relates to prevention and protection services. Knowledge of the FSIN Child Welfare and Family Support Act and the Provincial Child and Family Services Act. The ISC Child in Care Policy Saskatchewan Region Manual, the Structured Decision-Making System (SDM) and the Provincial Child Abuse Protocol. Ability to apply and interpret provincial/federal legislation and funding agreements for children in care. Ability to provide leadership through encouragement, collaborations and the promotion of healthy, positive working relationships with the objective of achieving client, team and organizational goals. Good interpersonal skills as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to monitor, evaluate and facilitate quality assurance measures for case management, case planning and file documentation of subordinates.
Ability to handle stress, ambiguity, and conflict situations. General knowledge of the Cree, Nakota and Saulteaux cultures General knowledge of the political and social development systems of the YTL-YTCCFS Inc.
