The Library Clerk is responsible for assisting with and providing library programming including Drama, and Childrens Art classes, as well as creating and preparing childrens crafts. Other tasks include circulating and processing library materials, shelving, patron registrations, assisting patrons with computer searches, trouble-shooting computer and printer problems, and telephone inquiries. Entrusted with handling small amounts of cash.
Requirements:
Must be creative.
Must work well with children.
Intermediate computer skills.
Must be dependable and available for scheduled shifts.
Must be able to work independently and be responsible for opening and closing the library on Saturdays and closing on week-nights.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with people in a friendly and open manner is essential.
Must have demonstrated ability to exercise reasonable judgment and discretion.
Must be able to establish work priorities with assigned responsibilities.
Ability to complete assigned tasks within given period.
Ability to work with scissors, tape, and glue.
