SUMMARY
The Youth Enhancement Worker will act as a role model to promote a healthy lifestyle and build trusting relationships with youth on the Witchekan Lake First Nation. He/She will assist the youth in developing life skills, a sense of purpose, hope, meaning, and belonging within themselves, the community, and outside the community. The Youth Enhancement Worker will develop programs that will inspire, challenge, and build confidence within the youth so that they may expand on their knowledge and individual skills.
DUTIES
-Plan, develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate the delivery of support services and programs for our youth
-Assist in the coordination of community development and educational services and programs
-Document daily activities and submit detailed reports
-Attending regular meetings
-Attending professional development training to keep current with trends and best practices in the industry
QUALIFICATIONS
-Minimum Grade 12
-Youth Care Worker Certificate or Social Work Certificate is preferred
-Experience working with First Nations youth
-Knowledge of First Nations beliefs, values, language, customs and perspectives
