Reporting to the Director of Advocacy Services, the Advocacy Advisor will develop and maintain relationships with the Provincial Cabinet, ministerial staff, government caucus, opposition parties, media, senior bureaucrats, the provincial civil service, SUMA members and other SUMA staff to engage in research, committee and Board reporting, advocacy and providing support to others.
Candidates for this position must have: a strong background in writing for various audiences and using a variety of communications vehicles; excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to self-motivate and prioritize tasks; and the flexibility to adapt to new information and think on their feet. Some travel will be required, and applicants should possess a valid Saskatchewan drivers license.
Preference will be given to those with related governmental, municipal, or research experience.
The salary range for this position is: $65,193.45 to $84,751.49, and placement on the scale will reflect qualifications and experience.
