Nibwakawigamig Education Centre is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. We are a community-focused school committed to fostering inclusion, acceptance, and excellence in education. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work in small group (4:1) and 1:1 settings to support diverse learners in achieving their full potential. This role requires flexibility, creativity, and a strong commitment to the principles of equity and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.
Create engaging lesson plans aligned with the Ministry of Education Curriculum and adapted to meet diverse learning needs.
Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Down Syndrome, ODD, OCD, anxiety, and other exceptionalities.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates neurodiversity.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external specialists to support student success.
Maintain detailed and accurate records, including anecdotal reports, progress notes, and report cards.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in Special Education.
