Responsible for providing women, their partners, and families with continuous emotional support, physical comfort and assistance in obtaining information before, during or after childbirth. This may include very specific cultural practices that the birthing mother, and/or family wish to incorporate into their birthing experience. Act as a liaison to Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Traditional Healers, and health personal as desired by women and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Grade 12 or Adult Learning
* Birth Doula Study Program First Nations University of Saskatchewan (4 month course)successful candidate will be eligible to enroll and complete Birth Doula Course.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Knowledge of the organization (strategic priorities, values, goals, services and programs), health care and First Nations culture
* Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nation people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations culture
* Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive information and documents exercising confidentiality, discretion, good judgement, and exercising tact, courtesy, and diplomacy at all times
* Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to balance the changing needs of the organization
* A successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector
