The Role
The Student, Lab Technologist position resides in Key Lake Chem Lab, under technical services and directly reports to the laboratory supervisor. The successful candidate will work a term of approximately four or eight months beginning in May 2025.
In this role, you will:
-Be responsible for day-to-day analysis of laboratory samples by wet chemistry and instrumental methods
-Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities within the lab operation and assist with corrective and preventative action planning and implementation
-Perform basic maintenance of analytical instrumentation in the lab, and work on daily operational and data analysis
Required:
-You will be entering your third or fourth year as university student in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related science degree and be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco
-Effective communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
-Demonstrate resolute attitude towards safety
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
-Coachable, open to feedback and a team player
Recommended:
-Experience or familiar with XRF, XRD, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC, and other analytical instrumentation
-Experience or familiar with Microsoft Suite and SAP

You will work a rotational schedule commuting to the site by aircraft. Interviews will take place in January/February 2025. Students will be notified if they are selected for an interview.
