Description

Kirsch Construction (2008) Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery used in the gravel construction field, such as; gravel crusher, loader, excavator, skid steer, heavy truck and trailers, etc. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
2. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
2. Check safety equipment on truck and/or equipment.
3. Inspects trucks and/or equipment, for condition, operation, parts and fluid levels.
4. Repair and/or replace faulty components.
5. Performs adjustments to various systems during preventive maintenance service.
6. Maintains and/or changes air, oil, coolant and fuel filters.
7. At times, after-hour repairs; carry, monitor and answer phone calls.
8. Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies and rules.
9. Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
11. Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
12. Respectfully takes direction from manager.
13. Perform PMs and inspections.
14. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
The job is a very safety sensitive position and the successful applicant will adhere to both the safety and job site specific requirements for a safe, productive and clean work environment. Preference will be given to individuals with heavy equipment repair experience.
Applicants must hold a valid class 5 driver's license.
