Reporting to the Plant Manager the Maintenance Manager (MM) will ensure that the overall health of the plant stays healthy, on budget, and compliant to regulatory standards through the excellent management of the maintenance staff, preventive maintenance programs, part and supplies inventory, and the completion of maintenance tasks on a timely basis and on target.
- Ensures the maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance programs can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
- Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure a good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Regular Communication with the QA Department to endure effective participation by the maintenance department in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
- Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for inventory equipment, tracking work orders, and maintenance history of the plant equipment.
- Continuously monitors the operation of plant equipment and systems.
- Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Ensures occupational health/safety, environmental policies and procedures are followed by the staff.
- Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times
- Holds an Electrical or Millwright ticket.
- +5 or more years of experience in a Maintenance role.
- +5 years of supervisory experience
- Food or meat processing Industry experience appreciated
- Degree or equivalent in mechanical Engineering appreciated
