The Barn Supervisor is responsible for organizing and supervising barn employees and livestock while working collaboratively with producers and Management to ensure daily hog numbers meet targets.
Responsibilities
Ensures all employees are using personal safety equipment & following safety procedures.
Accomplishes human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching for support and providing constructive discipline; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
Enforces HACCP, CFIA and food safety regulations which are practiced above reproach.
Enforces compliance with all federal, provincial and local government legislation.
Ensures adherence to standard Company operating procedures and policies.
Ensures abide by rules governed by the CBA.
Ensures respectful relations with the producers.
Ensures compliance of Animal Humane Audits.
Ensures review of livestock.
Ensures tattoo placement and report to producers.
Ensures animal welfare is being followed.
Demonstrably committed to continuously improving producer relations and processes, maximizing fiscal responsibility while maintaining our customer expectations and minimizing waste.
Monitors achievement of Company objectives of product quality, and satisfaction and efficiency targets.
Coordinates order requirements in an efficient manner
Position Requirements & Skills
Examples of adding value as both an individual contributor and active team member.
Experience in the meat industry with experience acting as a Procurement Coordinator.
Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the of the executive team.
Understanding of the key role production has on customer needs.
Manage projects on-time and on-budget.
Availability for conference calls.
Computer skills with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
