Chief Poundmaker School is looking for a Student Services Support Teacher.
Reports to: Principal
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement academic and social/life skills programming for students withAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Develop and support academic and social/life skills programming for other students withIntensive Support Needs.
Liaise with other classroom teachers, school psychologists, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and wellness workers to provide an integrated plan for developing the capacities of their students.
Set learning goals for each student, assess their progress, record their evaluations, and write Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Duties include teaching a small group of Intensive Supports students both inside and outside of the classroom.
Supervising and providing training for educational assistantsworking with the Intensive Support Students.
Experience with Smartboards and adaptive technology for iPads and laptops.
Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with the Education Director, Principal, teachers, and parents of students.
Participation in staff meetings, supervisory duties, and school extra-curricular activities.
