Description

The Touchwood Child & Family Service Inc.  Post Majority Care requires a Mental Health Therapist/Counsellor, under the direction of the Post majority care Coordinator
duties include but are not limited to:    
Provide mental health therapy/counselling to program participants.
2. Assess and provide recommendations and referrals to Coordinator for additional services provided by the Post Majority Care program.
3. Must be knowledgeable and experienced in providing support, assessments, and appropriate referrals to externals for mental health support and assessments.
4. Must be knowledgeable about the effects of FASD, Alcohol and drugs, grief and loss, domestic violence, and intergenerational trauma of residential school for youth in care or young adults that have aged out of the child and family services system.
5. Provide mental health services to youth in care and their families.
6. Provide trauma informed Mental Health and Addictions support options and access to treatment in coordination with the Post Majority Care Worker.
7. Rehabilitative support when required.
8. Provide recommendation to Post Majority Care Worker to ensure access to consistent support for holistic health services, transportation, and support navigating the health systems.
9. Ensure culturally appropriate healing methods are provided as requested.
10. Report/recommendations with signed consent re: therapy/counselling services.
11. Maintain files on Redmane Data system.
12. Must pass all CPIC checks to work with youth.
13. Strong Teamwork abilities.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Degree in Psychology or licensed therapist or social work degree with a minimum 5 years experience providing counselling services
