The Intake Officer will work with and support the Jordan's Principle Team and will provide service delivery of social supports to Jordan's Principle families in a professional manner exercising confidentiality, discretion, good judgement, tact, courtesy, and diplomacy at all times and in the best interest of the child(ren).
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* University degree in a human service field or an equivalent combination of experience and education. College diploma/certificate may be considered.
* Knowledge and awareness of cultural values and practices within the communities.
* Ability to speak and understand Cree is an asset.
* Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nation people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures.
* Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to balance the changing needs of the organization
* Awareness of and demonstrated ability to relate to families facing multiple challenges.
* Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information and documents.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, in a self-motivated manner and effectively as a team player.
* Knowledge and proficiency in computers and programs such as, Microsoft office.
* Must have a valid class 5 drivers license & clean drivers abstract.
* Must provide a successful criminal record with vulnerable sector.
