The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking a Family Advocate Worker based out of the Fort Qu'Appelle Office and reporting directly to the Family Advocate Supervisor. The Family Advocate Worker will; Within the context of Cree, Nakota, Dakota and Saulteaux culture and in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding and the FSIN Indian Child and Family Services Act bi-lateral agreements, and the Provincial Child and Family Services Act, Assist the Member First Nations children in care and their Families who may have to go through the Court Process, this includes children who have been placed off-reserve. Responsible for ensuring that the mandate is carried out, in accordance with the Act and in accordance with the Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services Inc. First Nations.
Qualifications:
Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline and twenty (24) months direct child protection services experience.
OR Certificate in Social Work (CSW or CISW) and twelve (12) months direct child protection services experience. OR Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW).
Knowledge of Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota and Dakota culture and language.
Ability to utilize computer software and hardware programs. Ability to make decisions using sound judgment in difficult or ambiguous situations. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills ability to maintain accurate and current information and documentation relating to case files. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must provide a current criminal record check and submit to Abuse Registry screening. Must provide a drivers abstract and have access to a reliable vehicle. Able to work some evenings and weekends and participate in the On-Call Rotation
