Description

Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre (Sask DLC) requires a continuing/permanent Online Learning Facilitator to be placed in North Battleford. This role is similar to an educational assistant but varies with the individual or small group support provided in a Sask DLC online format. The positions will commence ASAP or date TBD. As an Online Learning Facilitator, you will work with students in an online environment and will in most cases, be the primary point of contact for our learners. The FTE of each position will be based on current Sask DLC registrations within each high school with hours ranging from a minimum of 3 hrs/day to a maximum of 6 hrs/day.
Online Learning Facilitator Role Description:
Regularly communicates with Sask DLC Teachers regarding marks, pace, progress, etc.
Communicates with School-Based Administration and Teachers regarding students (marks, progress, pace, classroom management, behavior/discipline, tech, issues, etc).
Follow school-based administrators' expectations for creating Sask DLC go accounts/new applications, requesting courses, approving course requests, course selections, or drops.
Keeps student records organized/filed (ex. files for students, timelines, marked assignments/exams, progress reports, communications, etc). Takes attendance.
Ensures access to necessary resources (Sask DLC materials).
Communicates SST/learning needs of the student to Sask DLC teacher when applicable.
Supervise students and meet student academic needs to the best of your ability (ie. Clarify directions, read questions/assignments, etc); direct them to other supports.
Monitor pace/progress/success (ex. Check Moodle logs, check grades, talk with student).
Collaborate with the PAA Program Coordinator to set up students' work-based placements; travel to placement locations and supervise as required.
Maintain accurate records of student progress at the work-based placement and provide reports.
