Description

A temporary part-time LIBRARY TECHNICIAN position is available at Moose Jaw Public Library, effective December 2, 2024 for an expected limited term of 11 months. Reporting to the Assistant Head Librarian, this 53-hour bi-weekly position is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic customer service expert who enjoys working with the public and providing innovative programs designed for a variety of ages and abilities. We are looking for a versatile and friendly leader who wants to make a difference in the community. This person must be passionate about helping others and able to assist patrons with a wide range of information needs. The successful candidate will be tech savvy, able to work with customers of any age, background, or socio-economic status, and will be eager to learn new skills and share their knowledge with others. This position holds a lot of responsibility including acting as the Person in Charge in the absence of management. This position involves shift work, including evenings and weekends, as well as library programming for all ages and community outreach opportunities.
Required Qualifications
A Library Technology diploma or a related diploma with significant course content focused on education, social work, or community work, OR an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 1 years work experience in a library or environment where customer service is a core focus.
Demonstrated expert skill in using Google Suite, web-based services and other digital applications and technology.
Experience in developing and presenting programs for patrons of all ages is preferred.
Saskatchewan Drivers License
