Description

Muscowpetung Education Center (MEC) is currently looking for a Physical Education Teacher/Kinesiologist to come in to the school on a full-time basis. The Teacher/Kinesiologist will be responsible for providing a healthy, active environment for students that will enable our students to live a healthy life in an ever-changing world. The position is funded through Jordans Principal and offers a competitive salary. MEC is a K-12 school with approximately 110 students and is situated 60 km east of Regina in the scenic QuAppelle Valley.

Duties

Provide Physical Education that includes games and sports.  

The core of the program will focus on teamwork, self-discipline, sportsmanship, leadership and socialization among the students.  

Ensure daily participation in physical activity.

Help students improve their physical fitness.

Monitor and assess student progress regularly.

Collaborate with classroom teachers, student services staff, and parents to support students' physical development.

Provide leadership in the area of an extra-curricular sports program and participate in SHSAA.  

Qualifications:

Kinesiology degree and/or B.Ed degree with Physical Education Minor or Major.

Professional A Teaching certificate preferred.

Teaching experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.

Completed Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable sector check required.
