This position is part of pilot project to provide enhanced supports for families experiencing violence. Project is designed to support the needs of those involved with intimate partner violence both those at risk of and/or using violence and those at risk of and/or experiencing violence in a relationship, as well as their children.
The Early Intervention Caseworker role will utilize knowledge and skills to provide direct service
casework with families as well as facilitation of groups for those at risk of using violence, process referrals, provide risk assessments, assess the dynamic of family relationships, identify risks, provide support to mitigate further risk of violence, provide safety plans, participate in program development and public education, and maintain positive working relationships with SPS, referral agencies etc., using their knowledge, experience, and a person-centered, trauma-infused culturally safe approach.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor of Social Work degree or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree.
One to three years of direct experience in a relevant area.
Be eligible for registration with and maintain good standing in a relevant professional association
May be required to perform work outside of regular operating hours, including evenings and/or
weekends.
