EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Saskatchewan Provincial Building & Construction Trades Council is currently seeking applicants to fill the position of Executive Director.
The Saskatchewan Building & Construction Trades Council with over 7,500 members is dedicated to the improvement of wages and fringe benefit packages, which reduces employee turnover and sustains a quality family life; the advancement of apprenticeship, training, and journeyperson upgrade programs which benefit not only our members but also our contractors and their customers; securing a safe and healthy work environment so all construction workers can return safely to their families; to provide quality and value in every construction project to our contractors and their customers.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors of the Council, is accountable for the development and implementation of the Councils strategic goals as well as overseeing the day-to-day administration of the Council. You will be the voice and the face of the Council to numerous stakeholders including: all three levels of government, construction owners and clients, contractors, industry associations, post-secondary institutions, and act as a direct liaison with the contractors industry associations. Based on the goals of the Council, you will be asked to act as both Building Trades and Labour representative on various provincial Boards, Committees and Councils
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labour relations and negotiations; familiarity with the construction industry, prior management experience with strong verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable working with computers and general business software.
