Canham Miller Gulka-Tiechko is seeking a legal assistant/receptionist to join our team in the areas of corporate law, real estate, and wills & estates.
In this role, you will:
Communicate with clients, other law firms, accountants, realtors, and financial institutions.
Assist with incorporating companies and other corporate matters (e.g. business purchases and sales), etc.
Prepare real estate conveyancing documents.
Extensively use the Land Titles Registry and Corporate Registry.
Assist with wills and estates.
Work productively in an environment that requires a high level of accuracy, adherence to deadlines, multitasking, and confidentiality.
Organize, track, and expedite flow of work.
Organize and maintain client files.
Schedule meetings and maintain a calendar.
Extensively use software such as Office, Excel, and law-specific software such as PCLaw
Perform administrative duties with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, billing, invoicing, etc.
Perform clerical, administrative and general office duties and any other duty or assignment as may be required from time to time.
The successful candidate should have the following skills and abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong grammatical, proofreading, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Word and Excel
Multitasker ability to juggle a large number of ongoing files to meet varying deadlines
Great attention to detail
Ability to work independently under time sensitive deadlines
Hours of work: 8:30AM-5PM, Monday to Friday (in office)
