Description

As the Supervisor, Regional Systems, you will supervise and coordinate the work of a group of technicians and technologists responsible to undertake operation and maintenance work within an assigned regional waterworks district. This employee will also undertake operational duties including being the certified operator of record for a region.

To qualify, you will have a diploma in Water Resources Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline. You are eligible for certification as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.) or Certified Technician (C.Tech.). You have a valid Class 5 drivers license.

In accordance with the Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Program, certification in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment must, at a minimum, meet the facility level of certification for the district.

In addition to the above qualifications the job requires 7 years of progressively more responsible experience in the following areas:
Working knowledge of water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment processes; process optimization and regional district operation and maintenance procedures including pipeline, pump, and control valve.
Knowledge of construction practices and procedures.
Working knowledge of front line supervisory and time management skills.  
Demonstrated ability in letter and report writing; writing inspection reports and supervising contractors and tradespersons hired to undertake maintenance work.
Ability to develop and prepare written procedures and operations manuals.

The position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Record Check and Drug and Alcohol test. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A valid Saskatchewan drivers license is required.
