Description

The Lands and Corporate Services Division within the Ministry of Energy and Resources is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated leader for the position of Director, Mineral Rights. Reporting to the Executive Director, Lands and Mineral Tenure Branch, and leading a team of mineral lands staff, this position provides provincial oversight and direction for mineral rights-related programs, including mineral rights ownership, Indigenous land claims, mineral rights tax, trust certificates, and Crown acquired mineral rights. This position develops strategic objectives, regulations and policies, establishes program priorities, and negotiates and resolves conflicts to ensure Saskatchewans mineral rights management regime is consistent with the Ministry mandate.

As the successful candidate, you will be a results-oriented leader and manager with strong communication and performance, planning, risk and process management skills, along with the ability to lead projects that involve multiple stakeholders through consensus building and exercising sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and controversial issues. You will have knowledge of program evaluation, policy development, design and delivery, budget and decision-making processes, and revenue forecasting methodologies. Our candidate of choice will be a strategic, innovative and resourceful thinker with an understanding of operational planning and reporting, and demonstrate strong analytical and writing skills.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained by achieving a university degree in business administration, public administration, policy, or related experience. Equivalencies will be considered.
