Responsibilities: Carry The Kettle Health Administration is looking for:
The Researcher for the Family Violence Prevention Program will work directly with the Carry the Kettle Health Director and the Family Violence Prevention Program Coordinator in a collaborative environment to support the overall well-being of its Nations members. The Researcher will be responsible for: Attending regular meetings with the Health Director, and Family Violence Prevention Program Coordinator
Developing a workplan consistent with the outlined responsibilities;
Designing data collection instrument(s) to gather relevant data on family violence.
Engaging community members to conduct the data collection process, with attention to the OCAP principles and ethics regarding data collection, retention and storage; Conducting the data analysis process.
Regular reporting throughout the research process; and completing a final report that will be submitted to the Health Director and the Family Violence Prevention Program Coordinator, that will assist in the design of preventative programming to address family violence.
Education and Experience
Minimum of bachelors degree in social sciences or related discipline with demonstrated record of experience specific to research, data analysis and reporting. Preference will be given to candidates of Indigenous ancestry (First Nations, Metis, Inuit). Preferred Knowledge,
Skills, Abilities
Leading qualitative and quantitative based research projects.
Data collection design and implementation.
Use of data analysis software and statistical analysis software.
Reporting (summaries, infographics)
The ethics process when conducting research.
Trauma-informed approaches to conducting research with vulnerable groups, Written and oral communication skills; and the use of MSWord; Excel; PowerPoint.
