Description

The Ministry of Immigration and Career Training is looking for an experienced and collaborative leader to join the Skills Training Branch as Executive Director. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will share responsibility for the development, planning and implementation of initiatives that contribute to achieving ministry goals and broader Growth Plan goals.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, the successful candidate will:

-Lead the development and implementation of an array of training programs and services, policies and leading practices that address provincial labour market priorities.
-Collaborate across government, both federal and provincial, and with post-secondary institutions, employers, industry associations and other stakeholders to align skills training programs with the needs of the labour market.
-Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the operations of the branch.

As our ideal candidate, you will:
-Thrive in a busy, fast paced environment with complex problems to solve.
-Have experience with government decision making and legislative processes.
-Have proven experience managing human and financial resources and accountability frameworks.
-Effectively lead, coach and mentor a team to achieve organizational goals.
-Have exceptional communication skills to effectively represent the ministry on labour market issues.
-Have experience leading strategic initiatives and managing change to achieve positive results.
-Lead and inspire continuous improvement in program and policy development.

Typically, the knowledge, skills and experience required to be successful in this position would have been obtained through:
-A degree in a related discipline
-Proven experience as a senior level leader
