Position Description/Summary:
Prevention Services Youth Worker reports to the Prevention Services Youth Supervisor. The primary objective is to work with youth at risk by providing recreational opportunities that will promote healthy active lifestyles.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Providing evidence-based parenting programming to youth and families which will enable them to live in a healthy, functioning family unit.
Obtaining accreditation in a Best Practice parent training program.
Provide youth and families with opportunities to experience traditional lifestyle.
Assists with facilitating workshops and seminars on appropriate parenting and life skills.
Working closely with all community resource personnel to establish services for youth.
Advocating and assisting clients to remove barriers.
Coordinating activities: large and mini groups, and family and youth outings.
Maintaining accurate program files.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Grade 12 diploma
A valid Class 5 Drivers License
Must be able to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse, and Drivers Abstract Clearance
