Job Description:
Performs general maintenance and repairs for facility/plant systems, equipment, grounds and buildings.

Experience:
One (1) year experience in a maintenance environment (commercial or industrial)

Education:
Fireman Boiler Operator certificate

Licenses:
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Boiler Operator License issued pursuant to Boiler & Pressure Vessels
Safety Act

Other Education and Training:
Refrigeration Engineer certificate, where required by the job
Refrigeration Plant Operator certificate, where required by job
Pool Operator certificate, where required

Interpersonal skills
Communication skills
Organizational skills
Basic - Computer skills

Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of tools and equipment

Applicants without the requisite or equivalent qualifications for this classification shall be considered after fully qualified applicants for this position if they have completed some post-secondary schooling or are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program. If the successful applicant does not possess the full qualifications outlined on the JJE Job Description for the classification, they will be hired conditionally with the agreement and understanding they will complete the required or equivalent educational requirements as noted in LOU#22 b) v) within 2 years of their hire date.
