The successful candidate will be required to work as a team member of the multidisciplinary prevention team assigned to the implementation of the integrated strategy across secondary and tertiary setting within the service area. The Member Nations Prevention Services Worker will provide an alternate, holistic, and/or eclectic approach to the well-being of the child, the family and community understanding within their respective First Nations. The delivery of this service will be based on the development of prevention services with a strong cultural foundation in the ways of knowing, reasoning, values/virtues, and beliefs as taught through the culture and tradition of the First Nation people. The Prevention Services Worker will network with community-based programs, the respective Prevention Services Committee and YTCCFS Inc. to provide relevant community-based prevention services. Preference will be given to Community Members or Residents. This Position will be located on the Nekaneet First Nation and will be focused on community relation to prevention resources, and in conjunction with the YTCCFS team approach. The position will enhance growth and development for children and youth at risk, provide support and guidance to families at risk, and shall be supervised by the Member Nation Prevention Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 with demonstrated community work experience OR
Certificate/Diploma in related discipline and demonstrated community work experience. OR
Bachelor of Social Work or Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline and demonstrated community work experience.
