About the position: The Safety & Training Officer oversees First Responders in outlying communities and arranges training and tracking supplies in preparation for emergencies that may arise in the LLRIBHS communities including but not limited to pandemics, evacuations, disasters, suicides, major accidents, etc. The Safety & Training Officer works under the direction of the Administration Manager and provides certified emergency care training to health staff.
Duties:
Collaborating with Managers/Coordinators/Supervisors & the Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) to develop & maintain coordinated Emergency Response/Management Plans in preparation of Health emergency events that may affect LLRIBHS communities; Keeping abreast of activity emergency response activities & provide updates in writing to the Administration Manager;
Recruiting & promoting for First Responder Teams
Planning, coordinating &/or instructing training programs identified by Health Services as Mandatory Safety Training;
Qualifications: Suitable candidates will have minimum one year Certification in the Health-related field, a combination of education & experience may be considered; Preferred Certification in instructor status for PART
