The Kinistin Saulteaux Nation is seeking an individual who is passionate about making a difference, flexible, adaptable and knowledgeable for the position of Full Time Kisawisowin Family Service Liaison. The Liaison will be responsible for a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative and support services to children and their families using the Kisawisowin Program and the Tikinagan Model of Child Care. The model is designed under the principles of traditional methods and adapting these to meet the needs of contemporary society. They will be responsible for working with families living both in and off community and the Ministry of Social Services by helping families navigate the Child and Family Services system, advocate for children in care, participate in annual reviews and cultural plans, as well as planning events and activities for children to participate in and to allow for their return/visit to the community.
The Liaison will work closely with the Kisawisowin team to focus on programming as a means to address and prevent child abuse and neglect. They will be supervised by the Protection Director with an overall accountability to the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation.
