Description

The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires a Kitchen Worker and individual interested in Full Time shifts for the Drop in Centre within EGADZ.


EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.

The Cook is responsible for the day to day operations of the kitchen and related areas which includes; Plan and prepare a nutritious supper meal for the youth Monday through Friday. Organization of the kitchen, pantry, cooler, and deep freezes, and any other food related areas, including cleaning, safety, and supplies. Budgeting and organizing of food purchases and donations.

The ideal candidates are non-judgmental, compassionate and are able to build trusting relationships with clients.

Qualifications:
    Post-secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both
    Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
    Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
    Knowledge of other agencies and resources within our community
    Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
    Working knowledge of computers/windows
    Knowledge of Indigenous and cultures and issues
    Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - A Driver's Abstract is Required
    Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Persons
    Ability to work shift work is a must-days/evenings/nights as well as weekends

Starting Wage $18.04/hr
