The Role
Reporting to the jet boring system supervisor, you will be responsible for the operation of the jet boring system (JBS) at the Cigar Lake operation.
In this role, you will:
-Organize and perform daily operator care rounds on the JBS and all other related equipment
-Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve the JBS while ensuring safe and efficient uranium ore production
-Load and unload cassettes/consumables using a forklift
Required:
-Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent
-At least five years of industrial experience
-Mechanical Expertise: Moderate level of mechanical experience, with a proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various equipment. Candidates should be comfortable with tools and able to independently perform repairs
-Hands-On Skills: Proficiency in using tools like wrenches and other mechanical equipment, with a strong aptitude for diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues in real-time
-Hydraulic Knowledge: Foundational understanding of hydraulic systems, including how to inspect, and maintain them as needed
-Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues under minimal supervision, ensuring efficient, effective solutions
-Equipment operation: Competence in operating equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers and skid steers, along with a solid understanding of safety protocols
-Strong team player with excellent communication skills
-Strong ability to use and navigate automated mining technology and computer software
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
-Work experience with navigating and operating DCS systems
-Background in the operation of complex drilling machinery
-Experience in drilling and underground mining
-Familiarity with IOS systems
