Description

Muskeg Lake Cree Nation is seeking a Youth Wellness & Recreation Worker who will perform his/her duties and responsibilities in accordance with the standards of the Nation under the direction and supervision of the Youth Wellness & Recreation Coordinator. This position is responsible to assist in providing youth sports, culture and recreational activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. The Youth Wellness & Recreation Worker will assist in ensuring a safe location and will monitor the care and maintenance of any equipment and facilities in the community as it pertains to this role.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Work closely with the Youth Wellness & Recreation Coordinator and other programs and services that provide programming for the children such as the education and prevention departments;
    Maintain a positive working relationship with outside agencies as it pertains to the Sports, Culture and Recreation Program;
    Be familiar with legislation, policies, procedures and rules about sport, recreation and cultural activities, events and competitions;
    Represent Muskeg Lake Cree Nation in a professional manner with all agencies both internal and external;
    Assist in ensuring that the recreation facilities are operated efficiently and maintained to standard for safety purposes;
    Under direction, develop and implement programming with the support of parents, volunteers and paid supports as needed;
    Ensure consistent communication with the parents and caregivers and provide schedules and assist in gathering all consents and forms associated with the programming
    Assist in tracking and recording information on community programs, costs, numbers of participants and equipment and facility use;
    Assist in providing monthly and year end reporting;
    Perform other related duties as required and under the scope of duties of the position.
