The suitable candidates will be able to perform the following duties:
Prepare cultural activities for all age groups within the Hall Lake Community
Organize and lead in providing cultural teachings
Engage with students and provide support in cultural activities
Assist in gathering materials, tools and accessories for Culture Educational Purposes
Develop, Organize, Lead, Evaluate and Promote interests in recreational activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, camping, cultural programs and hobbies for all age groups within the Hall Lake Community
Administer first aid according to prescribed procedures, and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary
Greet new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other participants, explaining facility rules, and encouraging their participation
Provide for entertainment and set up related decorations and equipment
Encourage participants to develop their own activities and leadership skills through group discussions
Oversee the purchase, planning, design, constructions, and upkeep of recreation facilities and areas
Develop, organize and implement cultural events/activities for elders, adults, youth and children
Promote and advertise Cultural events
Be present on location during events
Ensure cultural facilities are safe for public use
Make requests for new equipment, supplies or services, as they are needed
The suitable candidates will possess the following qualifications:
Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent
1-2 years relevant experiences in traditional practices
Minimum Level I Coaching Certificate or be willing and able to obtain one in a timely fashion
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends as required
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to speak and understand Cree is an asset
Strong reading, writing, and communication skills
Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
Valid WHMIS and First Aid/CPR Certification
Boat safety license
