CMHA PA is a nonprofit organization that interacts with our community to create advocacy by focusing on reducing stigma regarding mental illness. Provide educational workshops for the general public as a whole. As well, we provide inclusive programming for people coping with mental health issues.
JOB OVERVIEW
The main responsibilities are:
Reports to and directions from Supervisor and Director
Oversee and ensure the continuous operation of our drop-in center The Nest.
In conjunction with the clients at The Nest, ensure that social, recreational and educational activities are planned and carried out.
Develop the idea that The Nest is a support group.
Community Recovery Services:
1. intake orientation and assessment
2. case management
3. residential services -independent living goals
4. pre-vocational/vocational
5 24 hour emergency response for clients
6. supervising/training staff
7. supervising/training practicum students
8. transport clients to and from appointments
9. computer skills
QUALIFICATIONS
-Completion of a degree in social work, child/youth care, psychology or other related social science or health related discipline
-Previous work experience in a social service environment as a volunteer or in a support capacity may supplement formal educational requirements
-First Aid CPR
-Mental Health First Aid course
-Crisis Intervention
-ASIST Program training
-Class 5 drivers license
Salary range: $18 to $32 per hour.
Work week is 37.5 hours per week, every third Friday off
