Term Assistant Director - Saskatoon Student Child Care Services Inc.
To Serve: Royal West Early Learning Centre
The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Centre Director and operation of the Early Childhood Program, including but not limited to:
Along with the Child Care Centre Director the Assistant Director ensures the provision of a developmentally appropriate child care program
Participate in the selection, orientation, performance evaluation, and development planning along with the Centre Director
Create and maintain the staff schedule including organizing substitute Educators for coverage.
Chairing meetings in the absence of the Child Care Centre Director and taking staff meeting minutes
Office responsibilities include but are not limited to: communications through phone, email and fax, starting and maintaining children and staff files, maintaining statistics reports, and preparing enrollment packages for families
Day to day management and supervision of staff in the Centre Directors absence and as needed
Break coverage and supporting on the floor as needed
Other tasks as assigned by the Child Care Centre Director
Requirements:
Minimum of a diploma in early childhood education or ECE Level III equivalent
Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Current Drivers License
Current First Aid and CPR Certification, Level C
Recent relevant experience in similar/related position (1-2 years preferred)
Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills are a must; ability to establish rapport and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with problem solving and flexible to sudden changes in routine/schedule
Knowledge of SK Child Care Act and Regulations
Experience and sensitivity in working with youth, young families, crises of all kinds
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy
Ability to work flexible hours
